     @why @RikaDerufu on early DVDs they used to manually set mpeg keyframes based on the scene action so that there wasn't artifacting but now they are obviously just using regular encoders for streaming.

     @RikaDerufu I was gonna joke that the only REAL way to watch them was the “remastered” VHS copies…..but when I found a pic of them it turns out that’s literally recommended as of 2014. I don’t think disney will release the original-original versions w/o all the CGI shit (b/c lucas loved them so much he had to have stipulated it as part of the sales deal)

     so the best is either autismo fan recreations or VHS tapes

     Back in the 2000s, someone on MySpleen made DVD-R ISOs from the classic Laser Discs. They even made DVD jacket covers/inserts. I made a couple for my roommate and think I might still have mine in a box somewhere.
