As a Reverend of the Universal Life Church, I have officiated three weddings.
“The ULC was a pioneer in mail-order ordination, as well as one of the first churches to sanctify same-sex marriages, starting in 1971.”
Thank you, Kirby J. Hensley!

@AlgoCompSynth This was still true in the 90s when I did it, and is still true today.
@inthehands @TheConversationUS I remember the ULC from the 1960s! They got started back when the military didn't draft married men for Vietnam. Basically anyone could fill out a form, become a minister and then perform weddings.
@AlgoCompSynth oh, I just meant the “everyone could fill out a form…” part is still true.
@inthehands Except they got rid of the draft, although men still have to register for it when they turn 18.
@inthehands You’re a minister of the peace
@ModGalFri (and still am!)
@inthehands You officiated 6 and was married to 1
@inthehands Easy, you’ve got six husbands and one wife.
Also you are a captain and web yourself to them yourself!
@breadbin so close
@inthehands (I used my rule of “if it’s already answered I can make a joke”. I swear I saw the correct answer of the person being allow to wed others. Or isn’t that correct?
Why the rule? If someone has a question, and they might only get one answer, they will be very disappointed if that’s a bad joke. So I either answer I know something, or leave it be. Because sometimes even I lead by example:))
@breadbin
I often enjoy intentionality wrong answers more than correct ones!
