Repeat harassment campaigns against furries and queer instances have come out of Mastodon.art's discord servers with zero repercussions. #FediBlock

     @BalooUriza @mynameistillian if someone is spreading misinformation, its the mastodon.art admin. Attached is a complete and blatant lie by welshpixie. After I threatened to sue for defamation it has been changed to "Federating with fash/edgelord/pedophilia/hate speech" because I dont block 1k+ instances on the get go and rather have working moderation.

     @PsyChuan @BalooUriza @mynameistillian if there was the slightest hint of me being even remotely transmisandric in 6 years of posting stuff here, that wouldn't be defamation, right, she could have kept the reason up and fear no litigation if I was actually transmisandric, right🤔 ?      @PsyChuan @BalooUriza @mynameistillian yeah the take of staying mostly neutral on who to federate with is widely considered a bad take. But I do the ISP approach, we suspend offending accounts that get reported. That like quadruples moderation effort but imho its worth for having the full picture. Don't think that we'd tolerate an account with the swastika on it or something. Some really bad actors commonly blocked are suspended like gab or threads, plus some tiny instances that r harassing ppl.

     also like "someone called me a transphobe on a website" isn't going to be the winning defamation case you think it is anyway.

     @PsyChuan @ekes @BalooUriza @mynameistillian I threatened to sue when all attempts, there were several, enough that a "i was busy" or "i overlooked it" wouldn't make sense, were met with silence. I'm not letting myself called transmisandric when i'm just not. And the sue threat, which I don't do lightly, caused the admin to remove that fabricated claim. So we're fine again.

"if one nazi sits at your table" etc. you and your admin can get as verbose about it as you like but if you're federating with fash instances, yeah, you're enabling them, because your instance literally functions as a communication relay at that point.

     That is sophistry. Running a neutral communication platform and solely enforcing actual rule violations is in no way the same as actively enabling such content or people.

     Not to mention that blocking all communication and account transfers for a whole instance with hundreds or thousands of users because of what is in most cases merely a small minority or even just a handful of people only harms the fediverse.
