     Yes. Those who support the mutilation of children's genitals without parental consent (and those who sympathize with them) should be eliminated from the conversation. There is no room for discussion or compromise on this issue. Ever. Period. End of story.

     I'm also defending people who want endless war, the estblshmnt of both major parties. again, not their positions but that they should be welcomed into the convo. that trying to understand why they support the policies they do is fair. the leftist tactic of calling people racist is intended to remove their voice, and those sympathetic to them, from consideration. what you just did shows how the right is doing the same with trans issues.

     I never said you supported child genital mutilation. I just pointed out you are defending those who support child genital mutilation (which has been the crux of your entire argument - that it's unfair to take people like that out of context).

     cause I'm an actual liberal. more than anything else, I want an optimally functioning democratic culture. not people misunderstanding and hating each other so mutually advantageous compromises never happen. that's where I fear we're going with this "journalism" primarily for profit and treating politics as entertainment.

     I don't know who approached that situation in bad faith first. That's where the problem began imo. And I think humans can sense it to a degree.

     We live in an age of unprecedented regulation and market manipulation, radical medical mandates and dubious pharma "science" and the biology of transgenderism, and unrestrained government corruption and law enforcement overreach.

     but we've had worse media environments in the past. that we know as much about the world as we do, live as well as we do and can have these conversations is proof that making it better matters. more efficient markets, science and democracy required that improvement first. there is no reason it can't get even better, or worse if we stop caring about it. your idea is not bad because totalitarians agree with it, but because embracing it enables totalitarianism.

     One should judge the merit of an idea based on the idea itself and not whether some other group has or has not made use of it.

     Totalitarians also probably endorse 3 meals a day. Doesn't make it evil.

     There is an infinite amount of conjecture we can argue about to no end. At some point, one has to realize that such conjecture can only serve as partial context and cannot hold as much sway as the actual information being presented.

     Not sure what your point is. Did you even watch the video? Yes, selective editing is a tool used by everyone everywhere, but that doesn't automatically negate everything shown in the video.      It was a 5m video. Might there be 2 hours they didn't use? Isn't this exactly the argument made by conservatives about January 6th? And yes, I've previously complained about the way those hearings were run.

     These kinds of media outlets and videos are just a shitty (but lucrative) way to do "journalism". I became a supporter of NA back in 2008 cause exposing this crap is vital to moving to a better media environment. But they got captured by a MAGAish audience.
