@cassidyclown@fba I think most redditors don't realize they are federating and will see reduced activity after the defederation as people leaving lemmy, presumably for reddit. This is the beginning of the death spiral.

As I was going through and implementing shit they have functions for verifying that post and comment text contains no slurs based on a regex set in the local site
Well, they have a slur filter regex on their local site table (stores information about how the site is configured) which is referenced in multiple functions for checking slurs
I might add in some sort of local setting for admins to filter local posts and comments how they want to, but putting that shit into the apub setup is pretty pozzed
