@stephagain@HebrideanHecate clothes that fit make everyone look better. that pattern by Simplicity that I linked above. They featured the plus size model for the cover - the pattern starts at a size 10 - and there are no gapes, no stretches, no weird wrinkles, it doesn't look like it'll burst if she breathes normally. I love to see that. Fitted means that, it fits the body inside it. Those who can buy mass market clothes and get that good a fit are lucky, but so often things really don't fit and nobody knows any better, they think because everyone else has weird wrinkles indicating strain, it's normal.
@FeartnTired I found a dress at the charity shopfor 1 € that I am super comfy in. but doesn't have pockets . it's like a shirt and buttoned all the way down, has long sleeves. need one with no sleeve for summer. length under the knee is my favorite, fitted
@stephagain Is it possible to have that dress you like copied by a dressmaker? They would be able to adjust it and incorporate pockets to it too, most likely.
Seasalt sometimes have pocket dresses, but they are not the cheapest and of late their quality had taken a dive.
@stephagain I have a dress that I found in a charity shop, it is a shirt dress type, and a wide skirt, usually everything is too wide in shoulder for me, but this is like it was made for me, but as it was old and type of fabric it eventually tore badly at back of armhole etc. I kept it as had hoped to get a pattern made from it and try making another one myself, but then when became unwell had to give up sewing and there is nobody here or even close who does that kind of thing. I’d love it replicated though, you’d think it had been made for me, it even fitted properly round the bust. Such a novelty for me!
@stephagain in France? not a clue. I've seen a few shirt dresses companies that deliver here. Landsend, CottonTraders, possibly Damart (we are high fashion in this house)
@stephagain I was taking a dig at myself, because those brands are for comfort and in case of Damart mostly old people shop there.
what are brands online in France that sell basic cotton things? Most of my stuff comes from Cotton Traders now, it's comfortable and I can buy the same thing in lots of colours so it can all go to the laundry. Having fewer things and washing more often isn't an option for us. so it takes up a lot of space!
