Instead of using Invisible Fence, which shocks pets if they cross an invisible boundary, do boundary training using positive reinforcement methods (you'll likely need professional help). I lost count how many times folks told me that Invisible Fence did not work for their dogs (all Huskies, btw), as their dog panicked and ran away while being shocked, not understanding.

socketwench (socketwench@hackers.town)'s status on Thursday, 25-May-2023 04:00:22 JST socketwench @asterism @ItsTrainingCatsAndDogs There is a large number of people that assume pets are mindless, thoughtless, often even emotionless. Which is why they're perfectly happy abandoning or euthanizing them when they're no longer entertaining or a good status symbol.

Survival is Insufficient (itstrainingcatsanddogs@kolektiva.social)'s status on Thursday, 25-May-2023 04:00:27 JST Survival is Insufficient @socketwench Yes. I once met a pair of dogs who barked like crazy at falling leaves. The person just bought a shock training collar and shocked them whenever they did. They stopped barking at leaves but only because they became terrified of leaves falling and would freeze and tremble every time they saw them, whether they had the collar on or not. So sad. The owner was happy about it because she just wanted silence. So, so sad.

This in particular is shouting "Comply or you will be punished!" which never bothers to explain why you're being punished at all.
