@Caledonia@Radical_EgoCom I think all your questions about funding and uniforms and investigating/collecting evidence is part of the problem with #pigcultute in the first place because none of that is needed to help keep the peace...in your neighborhood I assume it's peaceful already and that's not because of laws or police it's because your neighbor and you are peaceful...it's about letting liked minded people gravitate to each other and govern themselves...
@thegx@Radical_EgoCom Don’t like being ‘policed’? Who do they call if they’ve been in a road accident, burglarised or assaulted or a family member murdered?
Peacekeepers could eventually become akin to police depending on what powers you want them to have. Who vets the applicants? How will they be recognised (uniforms?). Who funds them?
@thegx@Radical_EgoCom Serious Q. Who then would investigate, arrest and pass to the DA for prosecution? I appreciate (looking on from Scotland) that there have been many incidents where police have overstepped the mark and committed acts of ie violence towards people of colour. I just wonder what the alternative would be.
@Caledonia@Radical_EgoCom The alternative of course would be for each community to safeguard themselves instead of paying and cultivating police culture for the false sense of security they keep selling us. It's not perfect but better to have peacekeepers then police because nobody like to be policed...it's time to try anything rather than what we have now...
@thegx@Radical_EgoCom Are you seriously assuming that peacekeepers are going to suddenly eradicate all criminal activity? No fraud. No human trafficking. No drugs. No assaults. No murders. No mass shootings. No Jan 6 type uprisings. Oh dear…. Utopia doesn’t exist.
Yes I do live in a country where we have no gun culture. Racism and bigotry is in the minority. We are a warm welcoming tolerant nation.
@Caledonia@thegx Obviously there will still be crime in a society free of police officers; no one is stating that there wouldn't be any crime or advocating to create some unrealistic Utopia. But in such a free society there would be far less crime because a lot of the crimes that we know of today are caused by the state and capitalism.
@thegx@Radical_EgoCom I think "harm reduction" is another ploy by the boss class to keep the working class subservient, complacent, and prolong the start of the revolution.
@fu@Radical_EgoCom In a perfect world or at least world where I decided everything yeah I'd just abolish the police the prisons the governments too...but until that happens I'll support anything that moves us closer to that...
