My simple, non-defrosting toaster is a Philips.-

I'm glad your toaster has survived two decades even with the slightly increased complexity over dial-and-lever. =) -

Who has all these random gadgets? Something like a toaster should be old technology that just does one thing well and is reliable.
If it sings and dances and requires an Internet connection and an account, you took your toaster and made a problem generator out of it. -

clacke (clacke@libranet.de)'s status on Saturday, 11-Mar-2023 11:44:20 JST clacke @lnxw48a1 Too be fair, it might be a bit of hyperbole on my part to complain about a single buttton.
It really does seem superfluous though and I'm happy to have found a toaster and a kettle that really only do toastering and kettlering and do it well. I want to reward no-fluff industrial design.
I went over the kettle shelf to check which ones had the proper power switch design, which is to flip back to the off position when the kettle is unpowered. -

Defrosting button is great. Only mode I use the toaster in unless it's bagels/crumpets.Of course, our toaster is very fancy. It has an "a little bit more" button.

Like maybe that person has something else going on. -

It was a joke thread and they cared enough about my brief comment on their brief comment that they looked up my profile so they could go on a custom-made tirade just for me, which connected to both my current residence and my country of origin. -

clacke (clacke@libranet.de)'s status on Sunday, 12-Mar-2023 14:24:42 JST clacke @lnxw48a1 The funniest part to me was the implied "do you know who I am" in telling me they had worked in a chain that shared an owner with a chain in Sweden.
I admit that I engaged my dark side and that I am disappointed that there was no further rant comeback after I said "I am not sorry for offending you home appliance sales sensibilities".
