I'm sort of breaking my rule of not judging individuals for their participation in capitalism. Mostly, people just do what they can to survive and our energy is better spent fighting big corporations instead of each other.
BUT. No one *needs* to shill for these glasses. Tech influencers know better. They know what Meta's end game is for this ad-tech hardware.
We are crossing over a horizon from screens to the real world, and once it happens it's hard to go back.
So these people are sellouts.
A further update (and a more positive one!):
After consulting with the newly established ACARS Drama legal team, we've made some more changes that should balance out the legalities we were recently challenged with AND the main goals of our little project here - which is purely a hobbyist escapade for plane nerds and nothing malicious.
I'm very hopeful these will be the last changes we make to resolve this mess, so here goes:
1 - We still have to remove the identifying info (tail #, registration), sucks, but it was agreed this was a must.
2 - We have to demonstrate that we are not creating a 'real time aircraft surveillance' product/service - so the posting delay remains BUT we've shortened it to 5 mins.
3 - We added back in the area. It's possible we may have to remove these from non-US feeds in the future - but for now they are back.
So better, still not as good as it was, but better.
Thanks for the support, as always.
The last thing prison labor programs want is honest-to-God violent offenders. They know how to fight back.
So my farm inmate coworkers were just standard-issue 19 year old boys. Weed & Xbox kids.
I spent a lot of time seriously outnumbered with these dudes out in the fields. At no point was I worried ~harm might befall me.~
The worst thing about them? They were just clumsy kids who didn't know where their feet were. Kept stepping on seedlings we'd just planted.
They were not scary people!
We should bring disco back.
So we can kill it again.
@murdoc @hellomiakoda @georgetakei Except that all the citizens of these new territories could simply move to proviinces before an election and then take over parliament, then making the new territories provinces. After the election they could move back.
So, you'd pretty much have the same problem, and given that we can't seem to govern ourselves these days ....
Hang onto that hat -- and those dreams.
We all know what a quick stiff breeze can do to the hat on our head -- it'll grab it and sweep it away, and we have to be quick on our feet to grab it back.
And we know what life can do to our dreams: snatch them, blow them away, and we have to be quick on our feet to get them back.
So, hold on tight to both in the first place.
