I loved it. It may be my favorite David Lynch movie (so far).
I welcomed that tonal shift. Sometimes it felt like the more humorous tone of the TV show downplayed the horrors of what happened in Twin Peaks. I loved how every character became much more morally ambiguous in the movie; they’re more human here.
As hard as it was to watch Laura Palmer’s abuse — I’m a domestic violence survivor myself —, I also felt seen. So much of it felt extremely real to me.
@simsa03 there is a bunch of stuff that probably my mother originally bought but feels not "hers" as much as "this used to belong to a state of this household that no longer exists". Lots of blankets and such. Tbh I think my own confusion and attachments are probably the biggest hindrance here.
As in, *I* am probably more attached to my father's books than he is. In part because they represent a sort of record of his mind in different states from now.

Sorry but strong disagree here.
As Kevin said, plagiarism is a very different thing from copyright infringement. It's fraud and it's covered with the same law as any other fraud (at least it should/would).
As for sales, there are other ways to get profits without copyright in the 21st century, you can presale books like @pluralistic does with his audio books.

To the new Mastodon arrivals: welcome! Feel free to ignore the self-appointed tone police that are telling you how you should behave based on their 3 weeks or 3 years on here.
As someone that's been on Mastodon longer than >80% of everyone else (i.e. late October), I can assure you that nobody- and I mean nobody- on the tone patrol is speaking on behalf of anyone except themselves.
Just be courteous, check the contrarianism at the door, and you'll fit right in. Trust me.
