the problem with "the left" in one picture: while actual fascist executive orders are being signed live on stage, there's pearl-clutching and handwringing over "so was this an actual nazi salute or not? we'll never know..."
@eff "We applaud Meta's effort" what, and i mean this sincerely, the fuck? you're either embarassingly naive in your take, or you're preemptively kissing the ring of fascism already
@Gargron@ctietze "everybody else is doing it this way" is not the best excuse. again, to be clear: for accessibility (and general usability), you'd really want to be able to send folks to an HTML destination - it's not about having shareable images, but shareable links
@Gargron@ctietze because yeah, for the most part i'm seeing folks share a screenshot with either *no* alt text, or something generic like "my wrapstodon!" which of course is pointless for screen reader users because it still doesn't give them any of the info actually there.
@Gargron@ctietze that's the point: you don't want to share this as an image, you want to share it as a link so that other people can see it (and screen reader users can explore the info directly, rather than relying on individual users trying to add alt text to it that captures all the info there). in short: let users link to their wrapstodon results...
@ctietze oh yeah, was wondering if i'd missed something here... christ, not even a "share" button or something on that thing. no wonder folks are doing the "let me share a screenshot of this thing" bollocks #wrapstodon
@BethanyBlack@catmachine good times. particularly for lightroom (last "you pay, you own it" version) which i still use to manage my 15,000 or so photos. time to look for a cracked copy of it then just in case i ever need to reinstall it
thrown my hat in the ring to make a small video update for what's new in #pointerEvents for the upcoming @w3c#TPAC ... will be quite exciting to take a step back and give a quick overview of some of the new Pointer Events Level 3 superpowers that have been spec'd out there #TPAC2023#TpacShakur
@w3c@koalie quick question: is the new logo used on the redesigned w3.org going to be available at https://www.w3.org/policies/logos/ ? or should we still be using the old/existing logo for the time being?
