--- The text on the contact page is great to prevent spam. I do not bite (unlike @iwillbite ). I just value my time.
The effort-reward balance of social media ain't worth it. Something made me come back. Likely specific internet friends, and a bad mood. Chat apps I would still consider. They are less distracting. ---
I am remain interested in the Fedi meetups though ( @fristi )! Although maybe I do not belong there without Fedi.
Perhaps, I take another look at Fedi, years later, like last time. But do not count on that. If there is still something you want me to share or whatever, ask. I will be here for one more week. -- The clock is ticking.
@bot Idk, most AI stuff is the same like it was some years back. The hype may almost be over. But I think it has some more areas to go. Some AI products didn't end up well though, so it got some bad press.
I think this will be my two point perspective drawing for this month.
Probably didn't take enough time for it, but schedule is too packed to spend more time. It isn't quality. The feeling come through though, which is the most important part.
The focus isn't immediately on the action part of the drawing, so it for sure could use more work. The small cabara's aren't detailed enough, etc.
@bot The answer is yes, which a quick search query also says. Although it will only be by a tiny fraction. Already thought the answer was yes, as it just makes sense.
@vic@bot But a subcommunity is not what you want in the first place. Unless you want something like groups as a feature. Fedi does not have "groups" either, so subcommunities aren't really clear, or well handled in terms of UX.
Instances just add complexity. I am aware of ActivityPub being a mess. I also heard it was insecure, and that people can easily pull the private messages in with setting up an instance etc, idk of much of that is resolved, but I for sure won't trust the security here.
@bot@vic Nostr also is the more secure, and well implemented protocol etc. As far as I am aware. The block culture issue is different there, but I think it does not have a big userbase.
Fedi does not have that diverse of a userbase either though. Fedi misses the goal in my opinion. It tried to be a better social media, I think less addictive, but it does have all the addictive elements.
Nostr does have those addictive elements too, but at least the protocol and security seems to be ok. Not sure of you can get someone else's messages by setting up a node. The idea did solve the block culture quiet a bit I think. I don't know enough on nostr to have a well formed opinion on it.
@bot Many people joined the Fediverse because they didn't like Twitter or something. Likely they just wanted people whom confirmed their views.
In terms of security and other things Fedi isn't that optimal. Block culture is an easy way to create your own bubble. It is hard to expect that most Fedi users do NOT want only "warm fuzzy feelings". Of course, there are many exceptions too.
@bot Yeah, most people do not read stuff. I mostly do it for myself, to develop thoughts further.
Video content would for sure work way better. But I do not care that much about my reach. The average person reacts emotionally, or follows the crowd anyway.
@bot Agreed, but social media in general does not provide value in my opinion. Which is why I deactivated this account for a long time.
One fun thing though, is to post something slightly controversial. Like "Why the Fediverse sucks", that can make an interesting conversation going. Social media is not social, and will never be social. It is purely a marketing device, and something which tries to keep you hooked. It is likely better to work on yourself instead of marketing.
You indeed, do not want to be stuck in a bubble. It can have an effect on your opinions, and then you see the world only from one perspective. Knowing the weaknesses of your own standpoints is useful.
Things didn't go as planned. I got into boxing and am preparing for a death march. Aside from that I am trying to learn digital art BEFORE animation this time.
