Perusing the science news this morning, as I do, I came across an interesting article about scientists finding an effect of menthol on Alzheimer's disease. Anecdotally, my nan had a obsession for sucking on boiled mints, which only grew with her sad decline.
I remember worrying that maybe the mints were making her worse, but maybe it was her way of fighting back against the disease ...
@killyourfm Don't you fear that websites will essentially become obsolete, existing merely as a forgotten backend to the black box of omni-knowledgeable AI?
@killyourfm@element Of course not all, but many big name Flatpaks are packaged and maintained (or sometimes not so maintained) by the community, and not directly packaged by the developer. I even tried to package a few apps myself, but made a few mistakes in my .yaml! I think it is wise in general to check directly on the developer's website, and first install the way they would suggest if possible.
@killyourfm My thinking is that you should firstly host your own content on your own website, and then disseminate it out from there. If your external "sharing and discoverability network" goes down, accessibility to your content is always guaranteed. Syndicate out the discoverability, in-house the source of truth. Does that make any sense?
