@GottaLaff I was just listening to NPR reporting on this and it’s appalling to think that parents think they can hide their children in their homes. A parent said “she’d rather homeschool her child rather than have them hear anything about gay people” 😳 because that’s the most dangerous thing?!?!? Fuck these Old Testament throwbacks. Oscar Wilde should haunt them all

Also for those wondering why they’re bothering. 2 reasons 1. Indigenous people are a big part of the population in OK and it will undoubtedly hit them hard. 2. Any state with oil drilling or farming has migrant work.

Your statement about his silence so Trump can bray publicly is quite profound. I read a book on diplomacy & negotiation a few years ago -one thing the British diplomat said frequently was how important it was to approach the negotiations w a sensitivity to the ego of the personalities your working with. So any concessions you ask are delicately proposed to try and get a win-win or at least not have a big loss on one side so that one party refuses to talk at all.

@GottaLaff I was reading someone’s post on FB a while back commenting again on what clowns all these guys Trump was appointing and how they wouldn’t get anything done. I never comment there cause… FB but I just shook my head and thought how many many times we’ve warned people not to underestimate these people and that the incompetence is the point- destruction is the point. They don’t want to run things with a different ideology- they want to profit off it and destroy it.

In a display of cruelty, Aurora Police Department (APD) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted what appears to be an indiscriminate raid at The Edge at Lowry apartments on Tuesday, December 17th. They detained dozens of people for hours on end in the cold, and left behind a trail of family separation, fear and devastation.

The Colorado Rapid Response Network responded to reports of ICE activity and interviewed dozens of residents. Last summer, we had a group of 10-12 kids come into the library. The first time I interacted with them, they were loud, some were using inappropriate language & when we told them they were too loud, they ignored us. It was quite frustrating - no doubt about it. It quickly set a tone of being somewhat adversarial w the kids which meant everyone was on edge as soon as the kids came in the building & they were coming in almost every day -to game & have snacks.

@GottaLaff in my news alert it showed as “exclusive” and I thought “we all knew this” 🙄. This isn’t about driving migrant workers out of the country, it’s about driving them underground so they are vulnerable giving their employers more power over them.

@GottaLaff I’m just checking in today and trying to catch up a bit on some from yesterday… shutting down the government means people on SNAP don’t get food, and housing assistance. People in the military don’t get paid. That’s horrible. No one should buy into that toxic idea. Thanks for reminding everyone of that, Laffy!

Some people have already been doing the work of resistance. Either their lives are reliant upon it or they have been committed to it for a long time. Don’t expect them to do more. What will YOU do?

Get involved in local elections- they matter! Maybe it’s just phone calls or texts but do it! If you can do door to door canvassing that’s better.

Supporting your progressive school board candidate or Ward/City Council member is important! These are the people who support schools and libraries. And trust me when I say, these are other areas the right wing is aiming for!!! They are not just gunning for the presidency & federal control.

So you wonder what you can do…
