Ok, I just realized we have a picture of what we saw today. We normally would not be able to see the land seen here as it is 15 miles away and the horizon is at 3 miles. And yet, we saw it for the first time ever from this point. We are baffled.

When I was a kid my dad ran the NJ summer camp for blind and visually impaired kids. It was a great place to grow up every summer. We had two kids who did a "radio show" over the camp wide Public Address system. They often played, what I assume, was a 1950s novelty record about a spaceship that broadcast a weird sound that made people shrink. I was terrified of this song and when I knew they were gonna play it I would try to run away out of earshot. I have been trying to find that song for years to no avail. Does this ring a bell for anyone? Did I imagine all of this? It haunts me in my old age!!!!! I can find no reference to such a thing on the interwebs! Help me, John Mastodon, you're my only hope.

Honestly, with being vaccinated and taking Paxlovid, Covid was like a very minor cold. I felt significantly worse every day last spring from hayfever.

@ATLeagle oh man, that sucks. Massachusetts has a program that you can access if you can't reach your doctor due to being a weekend or whatever- You fill out a questionnaire and a healthcare provider calls you back. It was very smooth. They called in a prescription- I had my meds in hand a hour after I contacted them- it might have even been less.

@ATLeagle He's not having any shortness of breath and declares he's fine.

@ATLeagle And of course, it's the weekend and the medical care, bad in general, is terrible on weekends.

@ATLeagle I don't think he's running a fever but he's coughing a lot. He was coughing a lot while he tested negative too. He's majorly vaxed (last booster in March) but he has a couple risk factors and is 70. I worry.

@mklopez A Trek sitcom would be awesome- I guess LD kinda counts, but I'd rather a live action one.
