what we could see standing on the beach at Race Point, Cape Cod. The land seen is too far away to be seen from this vantage point as the horizon is 3 miles out.

    Ok, I just realized we have a picture of what we saw today. We normally would not be able to see the land seen here as it is 15 miles away and the horizon is at 3 miles. And yet, we saw it for the first time ever from this point. We are baffled.
