@nyquildotorg @jalefkowit npm is fine. Actually, when it came out, it revolutionised dependency management. Cargo, widely regarded as one of the best dependency managers, took a lot of inspiration from npm.
Remember that JS lacks a proper standard library and developers are forced to rely on third-party libraries. Correct me if I'm wrong but statements such as yours tend to come from people who've never even worked with JS. npm has problems, sure, but so does everything.
