@danhon I am very serious. I had not figured that out. It sounds like search PM wanted a promotion over folders PM and got to try this to show the numbers that if you hide folders, people don’t use folders. What a clusterfuck.
@mattly it sounds like you had a problem that GraphQL was roughly designed to solve. Right tool for the job and all. You’ll be the first to recognise that most people don’t have that problem and just npm install some acronym soup de jour ;)
@thomasfuchs I think there is a rather big gap between what Mozilla looks from the inside and how they are perceived from the outside.
That causes employees to balk at criticism like this. But that’s a Mozilla problem, they need better PR to show the world what they are actually doing rather than chasing trends and putting all PR on that to chase the hacker news/reddit press
Dear “X’s syntax is heavily inspired by Ruby’s, so it feels natural to read and easy to write”, please do some programming language ergonomics research.
