@Moon@lonelyranger It's funny how fedi peeps keep making jokes about "have you talked to a girl" and all the real people are on FB. Of course you can get whores at all these newfangled OF and Tinders, but why would you
@Moon@meso@lebronjames75@whiteline But Obama did get us into Syria, that's the whole point. We are occupying parts of Syria even today. Domestic opposition to the military adventures was ignored by the Administration, and it amounted to next to nothing in Congress. We didn't go all-in to Syria because Putin was already there and he stared Obama down.
Remember the jokes that Putin had to be awarded either two Nobel Peace Prizes or a Super Nobel Peace Prize? Because he forced a winner of a regular Nobel Peace Prize to cancel war, giving him an equivalent prize would be unfair.
In the end Obama has set up all the war infrastructure and the outright occupation of the An-Tanf area in Syria, which Trump maintained. It was far enough from Russian bases to avoid a direct war with Russia. But we didn't topple the Assad government that was under Russian protection.
A guy worked as "IT person" in a small-to-medium company. Never talked to anyone. Fixed printers, servers and so on.
One day, he came to accountants to fix a printer. Barely said hello as usual. But one accountant girl decided to strike up a conversation and asked him: "By the way, how old a re you?"
The guy stopped to stare into infinity for a few seconds, then answered: "Far too old" Got up, went to HR, and resigned.

Pete ZaitcevI went shooting with a some guys and met a real gamedev dude there. He's about my age and been at it since I dunno... Since IBM PC/XT or about that. Has a portfolio site etc. Not linking because i dunno if he wants to hide his gun nut status from work. Either way, I asked him if what we hear about labor and employment practices in gamedev is true and he said yes.
But wait, there's more. We have a guy in my dojo (coincidentally the one who hit me in the face with a stick just now), who is a webdev. He said it's exactly the same for front end guys. And, he has an agency like a Japanese idol, that gets him jobs.
I worked in computers for 35 years and I've not been laid off even once. Both of these get laid off every year. Just as soon as project ends, everyone is fired.
It reminded me about my first Ethernet adapter. It was a "vampire tap" AUI on a yellow "frozen snake" cable, and the adapter was a channel card about the size of two U.S. Letter sheets. The Ethernet controller chip had more transistors than the CPU of the minicomputer into which it plugged.
