Sexy Moon (moon@shitposter.club)'s status on Wednesday, 30-Aug-2023 02:43:58 JST Sexy Moon @meso @lebronjames75 @whiteline this take doesn't make any sense because the vast majority of americans didn't know a country called Ukraine existed and there was almost zero anti-Ukraine psyop content in the USA before the current war. There literally was far more anti-Ukraine material from American regime mouthpieces like NY Times because of the Nazi problem. -

meso (meso@the.asbestos.cafe)'s status on Wednesday, 30-Aug-2023 02:44:00 JST meso @whiteline @lebronjames75 also like, Ukraine aid is miniscule compared to how much the US spends annually on the military, where were these masses of people being totally "against military spending" and not just getting psyopped by Russians for the last 50 years. it's bullshit that a lot of these people are "just against military spending", it's obvious the reason for that belief is that a country that they've been psyopped to hate is being supported. though there are OG anti-military americans and those are kings and queens 💪 -

i agree that the common american on the street has little to gain from throwing money and gear at ukraine though
and that the resentment against US elites not investing in their people while throwing trillions at the military is very justified -

Sexy Moon (moon@shitposter.club)'s status on Wednesday, 30-Aug-2023 02:50:37 JST Sexy Moon @meso @lebronjames75 @whiteline You are right that Americans are hypocritical about this, they almost never complain about NATO or Israel military spending. But you are underestimating how tired many Americans were of foreign intervention. Obama tried to get us into Syria and people were just against it. -

yes, and suddenly they hate it
I wouldn't say the coverage of Azov and Nazis in Ukraine is "anti-Ukraine", it's just good journalism. shame that all went to shit when the US had them shut up about it -

Pete Zaitcev (zaitcev@shitposter.club)'s status on Wednesday, 30-Aug-2023 03:07:55 JST Pete Zaitcev @Moon @meso @lebronjames75 @whiteline But Obama did get us into Syria, that's the whole point. We are occupying parts of Syria even today. Domestic opposition to the military adventures was ignored by the Administration, and it amounted to next to nothing in Congress. We didn't go all-in to Syria because Putin was already there and he stared Obama down.
Remember the jokes that Putin had to be awarded either two Nobel Peace Prizes or a Super Nobel Peace Prize? Because he forced a winner of a regular Nobel Peace Prize to cancel war, giving him an equivalent prize would be unfair.
In the end Obama has set up all the war infrastructure and the outright occupation of the An-Tanf area in Syria, which Trump maintained. It was far enough from Russian bases to avoid a direct war with Russia. But we didn't topple the Assad government that was under Russian protection. -

Sexy Moon (moon@shitposter.club)'s status on Wednesday, 30-Aug-2023 03:07:55 JST Sexy Moon @zaitcev @lebronjames75 @meso @whiteline the fake gas attacks were obvious attempts to justify direct military action and not just CIA+rebel funding. It was a massive political embarrassment that they couldn't follow through. -
