@clacke and even if there was a programmer, they must've gotten bored with their project by now, or have completely forgotten about it, or are disgusted by how it turned out... *looks at his own former pet projects
huh, I figured this was more common knowledge than it apparently is judging by the comments! Guess I'll be promoting its use more. :) Thanks for sharing it with @welshpixie, @enriquericos!
@apps I know that in #Fedilab you can long-press a link to "display full link", but is there also an option to always display the full link in the messages, or better yet, to set the maximum truncate length?
@clacke given that its Mastodon instance is generating error pages, and the last posts of OCRbot that my instance has indexed are from December, I think the bot just no longer is reachable.
@clacke he might first need to appreciate Star Trek and its contemporary sci-fi series and tropes, and even then the lack of mindset from growing up in that era might just make it hard to appreciate #GalaxyQuest. :(
#ImageDescription for post by @stephenfry: A tour bus operated by #KrakVille Tours which depicts several of their destinations / tours, and the captions "and much more..." and "simply the best": #Auschwitz & #Birkenau (accompanied by a photo of the dreadful "Arbeid Macht Frei" entrance sign), #Wieliczka Salt Mine (with a photo of the salt crystal chandeliers inside the mines, probably taken at the underground cathedral), #Schindler's Sites (accompanied by a black and white photo of Nazi soldiers), #Zakopane & #Tatra Mountains (with a photo of those mountains and the body of water in front of it), and their "KrakVille Tours" logo.
Dreadful marketing aside, I've visited both Auschwitz (& Birkenau) and the Wieliczka Salt Mine, and both were impressive in their own ways. The former in a "please, never again" kind of impression, while the latter has some really beautiful salt sculptures and entire chapels hewn out of the rocks. (Sadly the nazis also abused the mine for weapons manufacturing and forced labour by their many prisoners..)
@apps how do I disable the automatic adding of the hashtags of the parent post to replies? Even if I delete them in the reply, #Fedilab automatically is adding them back in as soon as I hit submit. I have to edit the post to actually get rid of them.
@youronlyone it's interesting how foodpanda skirts around what happens if you opt-out. One the one hand they say they require their drivers to take a picture, on the other they say the drivers should "secure permission" or "inform before taking the picture" (which imho are not the same). So, if you don't agree, do you still get your food, or will you get your money back, or are you out of food and out of money? Were I a customer, I'd also be interested to know what their data retention policy is. How long are they keeping these photos, and are they anonymised in any way?
@mastohost I'm curious, is there anything you can share about your infrastructure evaluation process over the paste month(s)? :) Any unforeseen points of interest? Challenges given the sudden influx of users? Future-proofing that needed reconsidering?
Project phase 'post-mortems', so to say, always peek my interest. ?
@apps maybe I just can't find it, but is there still an option to fully expand mentioned user accounts in displayed posts? So that it would for example show @ apps @ toot.fedilab.app rather than just @ apps?
