I've been involved in events where there were just a handful of speakers and only about 50-100 attendees, and no one had to pay anything and all accommodation and travel costs for speakers were covered by sponsorships.
And I'm certain that it can be scaled up. And I'm not saying conference should be free, but I doubt that 500 or even 1k€ tickets are justifiable.
@thomasfuchs I see what you mean, but i think there is not much difference. Some Electron apps do actually pull resources the same way as they would in a browser, but use caching mechanisms to not always do it. Slack and Discord do things like this I think to have 100% parity between web and "desktop".
@kommen@thomasfuchs I did hear a story that at some point, there was an initiative to change the US constitution to allow Arnie to become US president.
I like the Lightning-connector. The USB-C connector just doesn't feel right and with most i'm never 100% sure that it is actually making proper contact. The Lightning plug has a very satisfying click and sits firm.
Zero 7, will always rule the top artist list. I used to listen to them all the time as a teenager and even had them as wake up music for several years. https://youtu.be/pO-3U5m9N0w
... at some point they were cool. ok?... I still think the music is great and I listen to old albums from Kings of Leon, but they aren't "top" anymore, i'd say. https://youtu.be/EosX5fqTDSk
I was in Budapest at Sziget festival on one of the smaller stages, which was kind of a natural amphi theatre at a small hill. It was packed. People were sitting in trees. And on stage there he was, Yann Tiersen. It was one of those most memorable and beautiful concerts ever, that you can't repeat. https://youtu.be/isDvA6FVMHQ
