I grew up on xbox live and "hate filled" youtube comment sections back in the late 2000s and seeing the n-word or hearing bigotry wasnt anything special. And it still isnt. If youd step outside the mastodon-bubble, most of your feed would be hate, porn, and schizoposting. I just mute or block and move on. No need to be dramatic about it. This isnt twitter. Theres is NO authority on the fediverse.

@alex cawfee.club cant communicate with sheep.network because of a handshake error apparently:
Jan 24 22:08:08 newfee mix[582417]: 22:08:08.838 request_id=Fz14SGIBzMndbR8CCz7y [error] Could not decode user at fetch https://sheep.network/internal/fetch, {:tls_alert, {:handshake_failure, 'TLS client: In state hello received SERVER ALERT: Fatal - Handshake Failure\n'}}
Do you know why this might happen between Rebased and Pleroma?

I've never heard anybody my age say Konto instead of Account. Only my dad would say that

one of the most frustrating words to translate is "post". On one hand you can call it "beitrag", on the other, nobody would ever say "rebeitrag". It's a repost. Though I guess calling it a "share" might work (teilen)

that implies several things. Esp. as to how a user is addressed (informal was already used so I used that too), but older generations would prefer formal german which would require rewriting entire sentences. ?

stuff like this is why my email provider @Tutanota offers both informal and formal german as seperate languages ?

im still not sure about some terms any german on fedi uses in its original form even when speaking german "fediverse" or if I should translate that too "fediversum"

also with words like "account" being translated to "konto" seems kind of fake to me in a way. Current changes (by me) didnt translate the word but still has some instances where it was translated (by somebody else) to "konto". cc @alex what do you think?
