My Theory is that the #GOP are principled as in they are willing to subject the #UnitedStates 🇺🇸 to pain & suffering if it means achieving their desired goal. Democrats are more pragmatic, but do not know how to negotiate with someone willing to “burn it all down” to prove a point (hint: it’s leveraging power).

I saw this trending on #X & apparently multiple news organizations (progressive & conservative) are reporting on this as an incoming policy.

I think #Democrats might cave to the #GOP. The shutdown is starting to drag the economy down (flying, visas, banking, etcetera), & both parties are weary of continuing this fiasco.

However, #Trump remains an obstacle for a more reasonable plan to move forward (& the GOP is terrified of him).
