Hey all! I’m giving this workshop! I’m gonna do a longer post about it later today, when I’m not holding my baby, but in the meantime, if you’re interested, sign up! https://www.honeyliterary.com/workshops
I have writing to do. Yes, in the sense that I have discrete projects that need attending, but also, in the grand and beautiful sense that the task is never over, that the self is expansive, that the world is full. I’m so grateful.
My infant child really looked me in the eyes and said, “Sleep? Me?! Calumny! Slander! In short, falsehood. The truth is I have not slept and never shall sleep, for I am a man of principle and ambition, and detest sloth in all its ugly forms”
@theauracle I like what you’re saying here a lot, because what I hear is that ideas, songs, dances, stories, art, are all inextricable from their creators. We can’t really engage an idea without a citation, a source. We need to know who thought of something to think of it too. It is capitalism that wants to extract and isolate ideas from their thinkers, to unnaturally approach ideas as resources and material.
You know, as I sit here, reeking of my child’s goat milk scented vomit from a formula I pay 40 bucks per can for, I can only confirm my pre pregnancy suspicion: this kid really cramped my style and ruined the vibe
I read and write to end the vast loneliness behind my eyes, to close the impossible chasms between my human experience and another’s. Tell me what point Chat GPT has in that project.
@theauracle Take your time. And apologies if anything I says sits wrong or offends. If that's the case, I'd appreciate you letting me know, but no worries if that's not a priority for you.
