A question... on these decentralized exchanges, how does it work if I want to buy monero for EUR?

My EUR sit in a regular bank account, so how and where do I transfer them in order to obtain my moneros without my bank or the recipient bank starting the KYC dance?

Ahh, and let me answer my own questions for the benefit of any others who are wondering.

From the Haveno FAQ:

How can I exchange Monero for fiat without involving banks?

Haveno will support payment methods that don’t require users to have a bank account, like “Cash in person” (for face to face trades) and “Cash by mail”.

So sadly not useful for bigger amounts of cash. I would never send 10k EUR, or 1k EUR for that matter by mail, and I would (...)

Sad to see, but transferring large amounts KYC free and _safely_ is still as far as I can tell, not a solved problem.

Crypto to crypto I imagine is a breeze, but as long as I need the fiat world, and as long as it is my main economic driver, the integration of crypto needs to be smooth and safe and decentralized before I can start to use it at larger scale.

Yes... perhaps that is the way. Build trust and start a network.

Alternatively if my income would be in crypto from the start, that would also solve it. But where I am in europe we are far, far, far away from that ever happening.

I will gladly do so. Email is one of my favourite methods of communication, so if delta can be used without a 100+ mb electron app, I'm all for giving it a go.

Oh, and I don't own a smart phone, so my chatting only takes place on my laptop, so no apps for me I'm afraid.

Sunk cost fallacy on the investor side? I've seen it happen. If you have a talkative and PR oriented CEO, they can make the investors believe the most horrible things, since they have already sunk millions in the company.

Interesting. Never heard of Ergo will definitely have a look. Last time I messed around with xmpp I used something called prosody which was super simple to setup.

I also like the fact that I can run irc and xmpp (if things haven't changed in the last few years) on an IP address, so having a domain name is not a requirement, which it is for matrix I think.

Just dumping this in this thread, since it is somewhat on topic:

So based on some quick reading today, it seems that the only secure messengers that exist at the moment and are fairly established _without any ties to blockchain or crypto_ and have clients for a regular laptop are:

Conversations/XMPP, Element/Matrix, Jami, Delta chat and Tox.

Does anyone here have any experience with them? What are the pro/cons according to you?

No, this has been the case all along at least in swedish media it has been publicly known that males between 18 and X (I don't remember exactly) are not allowed to leave the country but ar expected to fight.

Phrasing this as ukraine actively targeting only fathers is dishonest and it seems like Mises.org has succumbed to russian propaganda.

Many countries, I am sure, have similar laws in case of war. I think in the US you could get prison while avoiding the draft (...)
