@mattl get it? It’s a double bad joke because not only is it a bad joke on its surface but then it also exemplifies the dumbed-down, meaningless, mostly-ephemeral short form content that has replaced the web of real meaningful content that we used to love.

And you can click/tap a dopamine release mechanism on the app to manipulate my brain chemistry in exchange for having read my bad joke! It might be shaped like a star or a heart or literally any other battle-hardened UI resource!

@mattl that’s good. I’d like to have something like that to keep my mind busy but my mind is broken and I accidentally poured my entire personality into hobbies that deal with the parts of my body that are failing me like my brain and taste buds.

@mattl yeah and honestly most days I wonder why I even bother with that part anymore — continued existence just feels like the result of sunken cost fallacy.

I used to be a foodie but since starting #Ozempic I don’t get any joy from food anymore. (Or anything else for that matter.) And now I kinda feel like I can never go to a hibachi place because it would be like creating needless labor and spectacle for naught. Like what’s the point? It’s a life experience that I took away from myself through my own reckless overeating and nothing matters. Not even trying to catch shrimp in my mouth.

Has the swipe keyboard on iOS been absolutely garbage for anyone else lately? It’s like for the last year or so it’s gotten dramatically worse at picking the word I want to use. Or any word that makes contextual sense tbh.

Cigna is the fucking worst. I needed to use their piece of shit app to access my ID cards because they haven’t mailed me physical cards yet.

1. Their login screen in the app doesn’t correctly specify the domain for their credentials so 1Password makes me search for my credentials and confirm that I want to fill them, which is annoying.

2. The button to go to the ID cards from the Home Screen of the app goes to my dental cards by default.

3. Going to the menu to see ID cards just brings up dental again, no option for the other cards. No way to view them at all.

4. I go to the menu to contact Cigna to tell them their app is absolute dog shit. I tap the “contact” button. The screen that comes up is the screen to select which ID card I want to view.

5. I finally open by medical ID card. It’s a tiny JPG with tiny tiny text in a small, hard to read font. There’s no option to copy and paste my ID and group and phone number. So I have to memorize a bunch of digits, switch apps to my medical supplies provider, type the numbers I can recall, and switch back. The app switcher clears the screen from the Cigna app so I have to fully switch back to it and wait for the screen to reload to see the next set of digits.

Found out this afternoon that the software I’ve been working on for eleven years is being sunset sometime next year. Tomorrow morning I will find out how it directly affects my job (if I still have one).

Saw someone mention the LGBTQIA2S+ community but the font made the S look like a five and I thought it was “25+” and I was like “oh fuck, young gays have decided us elderly gays are a whole different group now.”

If I was a hacker I would just find a way to load an audio file over WiFi to every Roomba so at a random moment it will say “Activating Horse Mode!” preferably at like 2am when you get up to piss.

@mattl maybe. I’m still trying to figure out how to recover from burnout enough to learn Java and relearn Python so I can apply for jobs though, idk if I have the mental bandwidth to try learning Lua as well.

@feld @Viss it’s very good! Got about halfway through season 1 with the homies last night and we’re planning to finish it later this week or next weekend.

I’m so pleased to announce that I wrote roughly 10-15 sudoku variants this past weekend at SudokuCon and none of them are supported in SudokuPad at present time. 🙃
