2025 was not a great year for me. I'm sorry that I haven't been quite as involved in open source communities last year as in previous years. The good news is, I've been working on getting my various ducks back in a row and hope to be more and more engaging as this year moves on. I'm taking things incrementally because I'm trying to find ways to be more sustainable and reliable with less set ups for burn out cycles.

That said, if you reached out to me for open source collaborations last year and the comms dropped off from me, I want to apologize. It wasn't you or your project. I failed to accommodate myself for some major stress events in recent years and tried to keep going even though I had run my motor dry and was trying to coast through like normal. Still, I should have at least replied. This isn't targeted to any one person or group, to be clear, but if it applies to you, I am sorry.

Best music album: Clarity by Jimmy Eat World (Led Zeppelin IV is a close second)
Best GUI IDE: geany
Best TUI IDE: vim

@micahflee Wow if this is true, UC San Diego got over $2.3m from three ICE contracts. Not sure what "Full Proposal" means, though? Did they actually get that or was it some faculty member applying for grants they didn't receive?

Every time I read "Davos", I internally pronounce it "Davros", as in the founder of the daleks.

Heck yes! The new AMD #Ryzen #Lenovo #ThinkPad P series now supports #Fedora #Linux (and #Ubuntu) OEM and without the Windows tax!

@mattl Yes. In the Nintendo Switch shop, if you buy the Switch version, there's a $0 "Upgrade Pack" so you can get the Switch 2 version as well, even if you don't yet have a Switch 2 to play it on.

I bought Silksong. I haven't played it yet, but I can't not support a major game where the dev priced it at only $20 in this economy. And I got the Switch and Switch 2 version without having to buy it twice! I never even owned/played Hollow Knight.

I really like #Thunderbird on #Android, but I have no clue what this icon is doing, what it means, or how do disable it. I've checked the settings, release notes, and github issues, and none of them yielded any answers.

@mattl Nice! Fedora Core 4 was where I truly started my Linux journey. I remember literally staying up all night until the dawn getting ndiswrapper setup so wifi could work.
