@RonsCompVids @mac84tv As a small note. The slides mention that -besides OSX- these boxes also run BeOS and Yellow-Dog linux.
But there are other options.
I actually still have a mac mini G4 (from 2005/2006) here at home and it runs .. NetBSD!

Question to the #matrix community. What is the best matrix client for somebody who is #blind?

@apps Is there an easy way to see what version is installed? The "about" version just mentioned the version number (3.33.1 in my case)
@aral If I look at it from a distance, my analysis is that in the world we now live in, it has become impossible to be a-political as even that has itself become political.
For those who gain from a polarized world, not having an opinion is not option any more you are allowed to have.
Even more, there are powers in this world who would have absolutely no issue the #esc goes down because of this as. Do let's all be careful as we could end up doing exactly what they want us to do!
@darnell To put things in perspective.
On our maps, Greenland is that strange blob on the top=left side close to Iceland and Canada<
But if you look at it from above the North Pole, you get a completely different view. (See image below, soure: google earth).
Image that giant blob of water become free of ice in two decades or so, it does show why certaiin countries are pretty obsessed with this issue.
@darnell By the way, it is also more then a traderoute, if you look at that map, one thing you can see is that for the Maritime defense the northern coast of Alaska, the US is completely dependent on Canada. If Berings Strait would get blocked, the US has a real problem.
I am not saying this is an valid excuse for forcefully invading Greenland, .. I am just pointing out facts that most people probably miss if you just look at it on a normal map of the world.
@GossiTheDog Kevin,
The problem is that these issues are not necessairy related.
Yes, the police have to do a better job protecting the information it keeps.
but that does not change the fact that certain actors are using end-to-end encryption for mallious reasons -even with the goal to destroy our democratic system-.
We should't use the lack of protection of police-data as an excuse.
We should work on both issues.

@fediversenews Hi all, in light of what happened earlier this week, we do have to keep in mind that groups (like guppe groups) are the perfect tool for a spammer to increase his/her reach with very little effort.
Perhaps, before implementing groups, we should first look at automated spam-detection / removal systems. If this isn't done, we risk that the groups will be become vehicles for spammers, which will probably completely kill of the service.
