I wasn’t all that into the first season of Foundation but it was so gorgeously made it was entertaining enough.
But the second season is really good? Characters are sharper & more variety in personalities. Fun stuff. And still sumptuous visuals!

Disappointed with SNW S2 opener :-(

Something about medical people in the Trek universe engaging in violence & torture … then showing the torture working as a truth extraction technique … I dunno. Doesn’t feel very Roddenberry to me.

@jayrosen_nyu I can’t help but read into that “respect” position an echo of authoritarianism … going back to people raised by parents who demand “respect” in an authoritarian sense of “don’t question me, I’m right by definition”. If you’ve been conditioned to detach truth from safety, this is your default model of how to do anything , including run a business

@Gargron yeah I would expect it to take some time to implement this in a better way that adds the right friction / boundary-control points
