on a standard 2.25 inch cue ball the top of everest to the bottom of the trench is .001567, or .00357 of an inch. (of course the trench isnt next the tallest ranges, so we would only sense a rise or a cut of .002 of an inch, or about half the thickness of lightweight copy paper

My daughter once told me that if you made an earth globe to scale the size of a cue ball it wouldnt have any grooves or bumps, it would, in fact, be as smooth as cue ball. I had to do the math, but she is right, as usual. The highest mountain to the lowest ocean floor trench is a variation of less than 3/1000ths of an inch!

Looking at the current set of miscalculations occurring in Israel and the USA, I am reminded:

Stupidity often looks like bravery.

Violence is often mistsaken for patriotism.

Or as a friend of mine father used to say ”you gotta be tough to be stupid!”

Why isn’t ICE arresting the homeowners that cruise home depot parking lots looking for cheap casual labor without documentation. It’s the homeowners that create the demand.

Thank g-d for small favors, the Israelis did not murder the 12, though they have been happy to murder 400,000+ Palestinians in the past year or so.

Saw another post about how we are so isolated in a time when we most need community.

My question:
Who is doing that? Social media allows us to connect with thousands of like minded people around the globe and often dozens of people in our immediate area. The only people who are isolated are the ones that chose to be so. I literally have 10,000 friends, and most of them are real friends.

So far, the biggest problem I see with my call to arms when compared to the French and Italian resistance was they worked with the support of the allied forces.
Today, there is no outside force coming to dislodge our domestic Nazis.
We are on our own. Armed resistance might strengthen the fascists

i dont see how the EU will be interested in the freedom of movement, if it doesnt include immigrants...speaking from across the atlantic, i may be missing something, but that is the way it appears at 3000 miles

if we do this thing, resistors will be killed and others will be beaten and others will be locked up, maybe for the rest of their lives. if we all resist, we can overcome them, but not without great personal risk, people need to understand this.
pretending otherwise will lead to failure. is it worth dying for? is it worth suffering for? if not, dont play at it. playtime is over.

A thought about inflation:
Wages have gone up just over 12% in the last four years. In most products and services labor is equal to no more than 1/3 of the entire cost of the item.
So any increase in the cost of something in the past four years it’s higher than 4% is probably not wage related, in spite of what business publications are trying to spend most of the “inflation“ is not driven by wages, but instead by greed from the corporations and capitalist that own them.
