@jesse That is so cool! I ❤️ that costume! The googly eyes are the cherry on top.
One of the people in our office went as an emotional support rubber chicken as well.

New insane headline just dropped. "RFK Jr. says he placed a dead bear cub in Central Park 10 years ago." The whole thing reads like something that someone with brain worms would do.
@evan Yeah, it's very weird. I think the person who said he's associating "political asylum" with "insane asylum" to make people think that we're allowing thousands of Hannibal Lecters to cross the border.
@evan The TV series' ambiguous ending could be read as a death, but I think it was really a "we're not sure if we're going to get renewed, so let's have characters take a jump." The novels end with Lecter victorious.
Just exhausted from being around coughing, maskless people who tell me that covid is over. Twice now the person who did that has ended up having covid.
A warning, I just checked my Twitter account. They have added back deleted tweets and retweets. In my case, it was only a few, but some people are reporting all their deleted content has reappeared. This is a known bug.
If you deleted all your tweets, you might want to check and see if they've been restored. Lock your account.
Thinking I might just spend this week as a unicorn. People are nice to unicorns, and they are glad to see them.
@darnell That's why every team needs a good generalist. True believers are great once you've decided on a path that matches their religion, but the decision needs to be made by someone who understands the choices but probably isn't the person to carry them out.
@darnell
Also, you're buying into a set of priorities in all the things you mentioned. For tech, you have to balance security, usability, affordability, and hundreds of other things. Once you decide that any of those things trump everything else, you've lost the battle.
One of my credit cards decided security was going to be their top priority. So, they put all these hoops up to using my car. Every time I went to a new store I had to contact them.
I stopped using the card.
@darnell You hit that one on the head! ?
There are a lot of IT experts who depend on people knowing nothing about technology at all to maintain their status as IT experts.
It's the kind of person who really only has one solution to offer, so they bend whatever problem you're having to match their skill set.
One difference between Twitter and Mastodon:
Whenever someone on Twitter asked me to explain something it was a trick to get me to engage in an argument.
On Mastodon, every time someone has asked me to explain something, it was because they wanted me to explain something.
