@icedquinn rules light doesn't much come into it. Môrk Bōrg is rules light, but without any available source files.
Fate is the same - it has some text document somewhere, but not nearly enough to reconstitute the book.

I had another check to see if anyone else is making an open source RPG, and I can't find anything undernearth all the lies.
Open Legend takes 5000 words to explain that you can reference their SRD (i.e. make a bibliography), but nothing else:
https://openlegendrpg.com/community-license
Expedition has source code, but requires an 'app'. Unsure if this qualifies as a 'tabletop RPG'.
@mattblaze
You can see how useful it is when the work's not done.
I still wonder how the British Post Office scandal happened. If we'd had a row of engineers in the court hearing as the prosecution stated 'this software does not make mistakes', they'd have to be forcefully removed during hysterical fits of laughter.
Listening to a podcast. The opening words are 'an entrepreneur is something you're born as - I have always worked for myself. I decided this at the age of 10'.
I just boked.
@icedquinn Okay - just read up a little more. I got you.
This looks nice. I was thinking of optimizing the little computer, and with only 70 Gigs, a filesystem with compression might be good.
Or would it just eat up CPU cycles, and therefore power?
@icedquinn
I think I'm misunderstanding something here.
Once you install, you need to reboot, so you'll either do a second reboot (after updating), or just update while using the stick.
@icedquinn why not just install, and update immediately?
@icedquinn Just looked it up, but I never got into kernel modding (except stopping the terminal bell). What does everyone do with all these kernel mods.
@icedquinn
I've made an installation script, which installs everything, mostly with Makefiles:
https://splint.rs/share/partition.sh
...and it had problems last time, but hopefully it'll be a 5 minute fix.
(obvs. don't run this except in a VM).
@icedquinn I highly recommend it. I've not tried the proprietary repos, but the FOSS-only basic repo has been quite comfy.
If you'll forgive a little tech-flex, I am going to celebrate my new laptop.
He's a tiny little guy. It has two cores, and 4 Gig ram.
He loads email, calendar, notes, and contacts in under a second.
He weighs about 1.5 Kilograms, has not many more kilobytes, does everything he needs to, and therefore is perfect.
@Adam_Cadmon1 "The stars never looked like that. We just get the signal late, in a tiny part of the spectrum."
It's hard to select a perspective until you're doing something with it.
What was your previous New Year's resolution?
@icedquinn Like this sort of thing?
@icedquinn Yea, the map might change to something less full, but of course 8 chapters means at least 8 locations minimum.
I'm finally attempting an old idea for book covers.
- The cover is a map.
- The map is a table of contents.
- The places are chapter names.
As usual, LaTeX keeps all the numbers up to date.
I've just noticed I've put UK measurements in the RPG, and will have to do a whole bunch of searching to expunge all of them.
For those not in the know, we have the worst measurement system on the planet. We switch between Imperial and Metric depending on context.
Petrol comes in litres, roads are measured in kilometres, but fuel-efficiency is measured in miles-per-gallon. People are measured in feet and stone, but buildings and rocks in metres and kilograms.
@icedquinn I don't know about what fires you're talking about, but I'm guessing different people do those things, and they're funded according to the expected return, financial or otherwise.
I'm just assuming, as that's almost always the case.
@icedquinn No. No I think multiple awful things just happen at the same time a lot.
@icedquinn The more statistics you know, the more you can spot good and bad stats.
Statistics aren't bullshit. Average Maths-literacy is bullshit.
