Hey Ryan, we noticed that Threads is part of this blocklist as well. Is there any chance you would reconsider? Threads has over 130M monthly users and while not all will federate immediately, it would be great to be able to interop with universeodon

@jaykul @crepels totally agree, I hope some softwares will detect that the link == quoted post and drop the link preview

The image shows a rendering of a post from Christopher Su who is quote-posting a post from Jesse Chen. This is a quote post on Threads, and it is rendered as something similar in Misskey/Firefish.

There is a link preview of the post attached, and also a rendering of Jesse's post with some indentation and a separate border. Before these AP changes, only the link preview would have appeared.

the reasoning was that `quoteUrl` and `quoteUri` aren't officially keys in the activity streams namespace, so we figured it's better to use something that's obviously unofficial (_misskey_quote). I don't think there were any compatibility concerns either.

Yeah quote posts are in a tricky spot. We implemented both FEP-e232 as well as the _misskey_quote field (which usually gets checked alongside quoteUrl). This was intentional so we can get some immediate product adoption off the ground (with the unofficial key) and also be somewhat future-proof when the FEP gains more traction.

Here's a screenshot of the JSON associated with @csu 's post. The Link tag in there points to the post we are quoting
