@evan Okay, what I mean is, who is not a worker? Presumably the CEO and board members are not workers, the external shareholders are not workers. What about senior leadership? Or the executive staff? Are managers also workers?
I've asked this before but can someone please make (or link me to) a table with all the Mastodon forks and other Activitypub-based microblogging services with some helpful stats about their archetecture and the features they support? This would be amazingly helpful for me to make an informed decision about which one meets my needs. Right now I am seeing a lot of cheerleading for one project or another which just tells me there is stuff out there, but I don't have time to try them all.
So I've figured out that Mastodon, Misskey, and Pleroma are three similar but different microblogging services. I also know that Glitch, Hometown, Iceshrimp, Firefish, Soapbox/Rebased, Akkona et al. are popular forks of these.
But what are the differences? Why use one over the other?
Is there a full writeup? I have seen a few guides that compare some of them, but most are old and none of them show the full picture.
Not sure why the post by that idiot fuckwad from the Gnome Foundation whining that accessibility's too hard is getting boosted again, but thanks for reminding me that guy exists, I guess.
"if an accessibility expert comes across as an asshole, I now assume it’s saltiness built up from years of exhaustion answering the same bullshit questions over and over like “Do blind people really matter?”…" Truer than a very true thing. https://daverupert.com/2023/10/accessiblity-shamed/
an AI product launched and claimed to generate “production ready” code. But it also generates code with accessibility problems, which contradicts “production ready”. When someone called this out publicly, a community showed itself from its worst side. What can we learn? https://hidde.blog/interactions-about-accessibility/
We are so powerful, we make you leave parking space unoccupied! in fact, we have too much influence. Let's give some back, as an olive branch to the ableds. Maybe we let them design doors that are less than 32 inches wide? In exchange for which, you describe your f*cking images.
Finishing Star Trek Borg, and then more scary games! Remember Descent into Madness? That's right, it's an actual halloween stream on Halloween! What a concept. https://twitch.tv/object_inspace
Does anyone even use <video>? I mean, why bother when you can custom code your very own video player from scratch with a couple of divs and javascript! Who wouldn't prefer that solution?
The vendor I worked for had a 90-day password recycling policy (and of course, you could not use an old one.) If you wanted it recovered, you had to call a phone line that would email a PDF of a screencap of your temporary password. (Which I couldn't see, naturally)...
My work email from google (the one I actually used) had none of these restrictions.
There is a lesson here, but no one was inclined to learn it.
Welcome to my tiny corner of the internet! I'm an accessibility specialist for WhatsApp, which is about the least exciting thing about me. I also play video games--while blind! I hosted a politics podcast with Matt Cooper called The Game Is Rigged from 2017-2018. I've produced and acted in the Worm full-cast Audiobook project. I host a weekly show called Thoughtfood on Venom.FM from 12 to 3 PM PST on Sundays. I also sing and play drums. I'm even a snappy dresser--though this is disputed!
