Another use for your old Android or iPhone... If an account you use suddenly won't let you in because of stupid ass Google shit, having your old phone around is an easy way to load the app and close that account. I had to do this on one of my debit cards when they abruptly decided to require attensation or some Google API shit.
I used the app via my old phone on WiFi to transfer out the balance and tossed the card in the drawer with the phone. lol.

Random tip for people going to non-stock phones...
If your new SIM card won't work in your non-stock phone, put the sim in a stock phone, let it activate, and then move the sim to your degoogled or alternative OS phone.
I keep my old stock Motorola in a drawer for exactly this.
Doesn't matter what stock phone it is, as long as it's compatible with your carrier and has some sort of data features.

This little icon just shows if the heater plug itself is on or off, just in case the thermostat is being weird, or the sensor battery dies.

This, by the way, is a handy tip for those with HA servers in homes shared with... Picky people.

I have a timer set up for reboots that don't need to happen immediately. I set the timer, hit go, and it puts this countdown on a bunch of the dashboards. At the end of the countdown, it turns on critical lights (like the bathroom), announces itself one last time, and kicks off a reboot.

Everyone knows it's coming, and the non-working critical lights are on.
Keeps complaints down.

Thankfully, I avoided that most of the time. Obviously. I don't try to upset people, but it does happen from time to time.

I used to joke some clumbsy oaf must have fallen on her panel of sensory slider controls.
"Perhaps." was always her response. In her language, in that context, that meant she was amused - or at least as close to amused as her experience allowed for.

I don't recall her doing anything most would view as fun. She didn't seem particularly unhappy, but that was always hard to read.

Wait... I might actually be able to pull that from my router, seeing if [Mac address] is connected. My router is already connected with a HA integration. Broken at the moment, but I haven't attempted to fix that yet, might be as simple as needing to reauth.

Heh, she was the poster child of flat affect for sure! But it made funny moments funnier, despite her not attempting to be funny.

...and an example of spectrum not being a straight line. She had no perceptable ability to taste, and I had to remind her more than once not to move logs in the fire pit with her bare hands.

@woozle Yes. She once tried to navigate a store, was already just horribly over stimulated by all the light and sound.
The fire alarm went off.
She ended up on the floor before forcing herself out to evacuate.

She never spoke above a whisper because her own voice hurt her, and she only opened her eyes to move or interact with something, even at night. 😱
