For example, some mature video game with adult elements could ask systemd for the birthday before letting the user play the game.

AFAIK, there are no hooks in place that verify that the supplied birth date matches their birth certificate, government issued ID, etc. So there's nothing stopping you from lying about your age to get around the video game rating.

Long term YouTube subscriptions are such a strange form of relationship. I watch someone for years and years, I get to know them, their manerisms, their personality... and with few exceptions, they know absolutely 0 about me. It's strange. It's also different from other forms of media. I've never felt that about TV shows. Those are pure fiction.

I like #Manjaro, a lot. It's my daily driver on the majority of my machines. Plan A is to stay with Manjaro. ...but I need a Plan B, just in case. Anyone have distro recommendations for a Manjaro fan in case Majaro falls apart? I have both older hardware and newer hardware it needs to run on, though I'm not entirely opposed to defferent similar distros.

Great... the people in charge of the project of the OS most my computers run on are having a bit of a fight, and everybody's on strike. Fantastic. Welp, I sure hope nothing breaks till that's resolved.

I'm watching a trans person discuss the "trasvestigators"... The pure absurdity of it boggles the mind. If the "transvestigators" were correct, the numbers would be like 2 in 5 are trans. I'm pretty sure if those were the numbers, and they claim LOADS of celeberties are - celebs have a lot of sway, I doubt our current political situation would be what it is. It's nuts. Even a woman having been pregnant isn't enough to convince them she's cis!

Could you imagine how much money could be made if a company showed up and put out a video like "Your stuff keeps falling apart, food is pricier yet crappier, everything is a subscription, companies trick you in to paying anyway, and they think you're too stupid to notice. Us, here at [brand]... we just make good things you'll want to buy from us. No tricks.", and then actually stuck to it?

I often have an initial reaction to things, often negative. Then process, and come back with an ACTUAL reaction. (Example: If person I live with wants to change something, I might get upset because change. Then process it and be fine with that change.)

Just curious if 2-stage reactions are common. Typically, ND friends accpet/tolerate this, NT friends stay mad at the first stage for eternity.

Soo... Where I'm moving to is a much better house, with much fewer social demands, with someone who understands me and I feel very safe with. A definite upgrade.
None the less... In this interim, I am REALLY struggling with the routine obliteration and overwhelm at the HUGE tasks.
