While I was giving out candy (by the hundreds) one little girl, about six or seven, gave me something in return: she put a little beaded bracelet on my wrist. When I looked at it, it said "VOTE" on it. 🥺 🥰 It made me so happy.

I used to wonder how we survived four years of Trump as president and now I wonder if we didn't.

This weekend was an all-on assault on cleaning the house. Now, as a reward for all my hard work, I've got the worst allergy headache, from all the dust and worse that we made airborne. 😩

Just imagine if hard work made you physically feel *better* rather than worse? This is how I know there is no god.

@clacke Medical science here is paid for with tax dollars and then the treatments and care are sold back to the taxpayer at high prices through a private system. AND states have sold the information to various entities—Texas sold theirs to the Pentagon, for some reason. So, it's a hellscape herre.

Want to hear something nuts? #NewJersey takes a blood sample from every newborn baby and then *keeps it* as a DNA sample. Parents have to opt out, which requirers knowing about the practice. NJ has been sued, and has defended the practice in court, saying even though they've given the samples to police for cases, they promise not to do that in the future. 🤨

This is pretty nuts. A woman was falsely arrested on a nearly thirty year old warrant because she had the same name. After two weeks in jail, during which she repeatedly asked them to check her prints, authorities finally compared her fingerprints against the wanted woman and realized she was right.

Oh man. The U.S. Supreme Court denied the Biden administration's request to reinstate their SAVE Plan which would forgive student debt. The claim is that it would deprive a loan service of business.

@FlashMobOfOne Yeah, like ice hockey, I imagine it's hard enough to conduct the play without hard contact/getting hurt, you don't really need intentional attempts to hurt each other. 🤔 I do remember some pretty theatrical plays, some of which were violent, others not, though.

@FlashMobOfOne So, what was accurate? And what was inaccurate? I watched roller derby kind of obsessively in the 1970s as a kid (it was on UHF) and thought it was kinda semi-staged, like wrestling.

I liked it, too. It's a well-worn path, the high school coming of age movie, but this had the benefit of (1) being done in a totally new realm, roller derby, and (2) really adorable performances by some of my favorite actors. 🙂 Real sleeper.

See that third option below, "Followers only"? Someone with a bunch of racist followers could reply with racist abuse and only the victim and the racists see it.
