I'm getting a bit fed up with people stating or implying that #moderation on the #Fediverse is hard: it is not!

@echo_pbreyer van Leyen is just the ‘face of the organization’.

It is the system with its non transparent ways of accepting lobbying and big money doing the lobbying and being successful at it that is the problem.

I agree that ‘pirates’ may be the solution, but only in the sense of ‘a sane and democracy promoting alternative to a lot of the powers within the system’ if only we took the European Human Rights laws as a starting point for all new legislation.

@mwl @taf to everyone stating ‘I just gave up’ my advice is: just un-give up and try again. Do it for the rest of us. Just run your own #mailserver or better yet: run it for yourself and your friends and some small businesses and maybe even some larger ones. Just don’t give up again! #motivational

@OpenTech_AUC one of the nice features of running your own instance is that you can increase the number of allowed characters to something a bit more than the default.

That way you can fit those URL's (and your argumentation that has nicely formed sentences instead of abbreviated ones) in your toots and your reactions.

I strongly recommend doing that. #mastoadmin

But does that not still give me the ‘talking from a high horse’ impression?
I still expect the same “hey I was not talking about Firefox, why are you trying to push that on me?” reaction.

In fact I think those strong emotional reaction have their grounds in the feeling that deep down these people know that they had better not use Chrome. And thát hurts.

@hacks4pancakes does that also count for stuff that is of no charge and have them keep using it hurts them (and others) in so many ways and levels?

For example if I where to say: "Hey, I see you are using Chrome, it would really be a good idea if you would use Firefox instead."?
