I'm really getting nervous about how so many are embracing Threads. When I first heard they were going to federated, I had hoped we would see a stand for users' privacy. #fedipact wasn't taken up my instance admin, and even the user level block seems worthless as the POTUS account on Threads is still visible demonstrates. 😑😑😑

@aral has anyone been Rick Rolled yet?

@FediPact a number of us on instances that didn't block Threads would like to transfer to a #fedipact instance but their is no clear sign which are open to registration. Could use some recommendations?

@Rasp there are a few things I make that's the same, the hundreds of egg custards for example.

@Rasp and people in the third group are disenfranchised to the point of non participation because politicians are loathed to have any among them with principles.

@Rasp that could get pretty expensive depending on the capacity needed. A WD Passport drive is fairly portable and 5TB for $120 isn't too expensive either.

@atomicpoet @socialmedianews it should be a real concern for everyone how much Musk companies have influence over us. Twitter for our social media, Starlink for internet (including T-Mobile data connection), Tesla vehicles, Tesla/Solar City solar power and integration, and not to mention Nueralink chips. Its a privacy nightmare.

So I was just thing are there any #ActivityPub platforms in the #Fediverse that are tailored for writer publications? I used to use sites like stories.com but they claimed ownership of all works uploaded. I'd like to be able to post some short stories and maybe essays on various topics in a way to integrate with the whole fediverse experience.

@glynmoody the story of the Japanese American entournment camps really does need to be told, its vital we NEVER do that again. As far as Takei and Shatner well that feud has been ongoing for years what's not said is how Takei is toward his fans and why they avoid him.

@feditips @pixelfed it can get confusing though when someone registers a user name that is also the name of a project, had this happen when discussing CalyxOS/Calyx Institute.
