@StillIRise1963 I can’t tell you how many times I’ve uttered that very sentence … to the amazement of listeners.

@StillIRise1963 That requires a bit of self-reflection, not to mention taking some responsibility for maintaining a system that denigrates the global majority population. I could go on and on, but I think it also involves acknowledging that it’s advantageous to them … and an advantage isn’t really an advantage unless someone else is DEPRIVED of it. Then there’s the guilt, blah, blah, blah. But SOME work through it. A select few.

@StillIRise1963 Something else occurred to me: the fact that the majority of white folks see fighting racism as something “impossible” to get their heads and HEARTS around is all the more reason why it SHOULD be grappled with with all deliberate speed. That whole impossible nature is merely an illusion. A sheen. It’s smoke and mirrors. Lies and fear. The solution is simple, it’s just not easy.
