You've heard of WE RATE DOGS, but are you ready for WE RATE LAPTOP LIDS? 💻😄
Maybe your laptop is decorated with stickers from your favorite #FOSS projects or Linux distros. Maybe it's adorned with your favorite bands, characters, comics, or coffee shops.
Or maybe it's just a sticker of your awesome silly face, like this one from Thunderbird's own @brendan (Shows restraint, perfect centering, makes us laugh: 11/10).
Take a photo of YOURS and email it to us: 💌 community@thunderbird.net

Now that we're all back and recovering from FOSDEM, we'd love to know two things: what were your favorite talks, and just as importantly, what were your favorite moments in between the talks? 🤔
(And no, those talks and moments don't have to be Thunderbird related! This is not a shameless ploy for attention, we promise. We'll be MUCH more obvious about those! 😜 💙 )
At long last, the Thunderbird blog now has a "Share To Mastodon" button!
A hearty round of applause and eternal thanks to @micah, @oopsallnaps, and @devmount for making it happen 💙
It's not just MZLA folks giving talks this weekend! Be sure to check out the Modern Email Devroom for talks by Thunderbird Council member @benbucksch on 2FA and dedicated contributor @bogo on imagining the future of e-mail. 🧵 (2/4)
https://fosdem.org/2024/schedule/event/fosdem-2024-1711--ending-it-s-all-about-the-email-ugh-what-/
We have all the info (and links) for the talks from members of our Thunderbird community in this thread, so whether you're trying to get into a room or watch a talk from the comfort of your own space (and computer), we have you covered. Like Seven says, there's no reason not to be there! 🧵 (1/4)
Our MZLA members of Team Thunderbird, @cketti , @kaiengert will also be in speaking in the Modern Email Devroom, as well as @brendan in the Rust Devroom and @alecaddd in Open Source Design! We have a handy guide to these talks, and of course, Thunderbird takes the Main Track with @ryanleesipes on Saturday morning! See the next and final post in the thread for links to these talks. 🧵 (3/4)
If you'll be at FOSDEM this weekend, can you help us with this sticky situation? You can find us in Building K, Level 1, Group B where Team Thunderbird will be happy to share their knowledge, excitement, and of course, stickers!
Heading to FOSDEM? We are too! Don't miss @ryanleesipes talk on how to bring your open source project roaring back to life with the Thunderbird template. Join us in person AND online this Saturday at 10:00 (UTC +1) here: https://fosdem.org/2024/schedule/event/fosdem-2024-2741-take-your-foss-project-from-surviving-to-thriving/
We have more talks and our stand (Building K - Level 1 - Group B), so stay tuned for more FOSDEM updates this week!
Mark your calendars! Next Thursday at 18:00 UTC is our FIRST Office Hours of 2024, and our guest is UX Developer @emitche ! We'll be talking about planned updates to the Message Context Menu, accessibility, and of course, your questions about the design process! Find out where to send your questions and how to join us in the blog post. 💙 🙌

@forteller Hi! A Conversation view that makes this possible is on our roadmap for the coming year. Until then, we suggest the developer-supported Conversations add on! https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/gmail-conversation-view/
@IgorRock Thanks for wanting to support us! Our payment provider needs a billing address for identity verification, payment processing, and especially fraud prevention. You can read our Privacy Policy at https://donate.mozilla.org/faq/
▶️ $17.44 ◀️ That’s the average donation to Thunderbird so far in 2023. A gift roughly the price of a pizza helps provide jobs. It helps us bring Thunderbird to iOS and Android even faster. It helps us develop new features. It substantially improves our sustainability.
YOU have that power! YOU can help give people a free, ethical alternative to corporate giants and walled gardens. Please donate today, and help Thunderbird thrive: https://mzla.link/eoy23_masto

A few weeks ago we shared some of the music we at Team Thunderbird use to get focused. We'd love to know what tunes - songs, playlists, or even genres - help you flow through that Monday morning inbox. ✉️ 🎧
It's Monday, and if you're like us, being online for work and fun can be a literal pain in the neck. @pocket_recommends has a great collection of stretches for the very online, and this week we're giving seated neck stretches a try: https://www.prevention.com/fitness/g20430012/5-restorative-neck-stretches-you-can-do-sitting-down/?utm_source=pocket_collection_story 🪑
How do you all remember to stay limber in front of your keyboard, whether it's at your desk or on your keyboard? 📱 ⌨️
Avoid missing attachments in Thunderbird with attachment keywords that you can customize!
Go to Thunderbird Menu > Settings > Composition, and scroll to 'Attachments.' Click on 'Keywords' to maintain YOUR custom keyword list. 📎
If you're, ahem, strategically not attaching documents when you say you've attached them, you can turn reminders off across Thunderbird in Attachment Settings - or disable reminders for the current message when the attachment reminder pops up. 😉
Getting ready for Halloween, recovering from changing the clocks, or dreaming about fall on a spring day down south? We hear you! Today we're listening to some spooky Lofi tunes to get in the work groove and have more treats than tricks. What are your tunes to get energized, find focus, or wind down? 🎧 🎃
