@feditips is it strictly true that there is no moderation to worry about for single user instances? I guess it's not traditional "moderation", but as Mastodon instances cache content from other servers it would presumably be legally prudent to make sure you're not accidentally caching content that could land you in trouble.

I think it's safe to say that we are all greatful for the Mastodon project, but putting the rumours to bed would help quell the unease that a lot of people are feeling right now.

@aral The sad part is that to some people the attention they get from MegaCorp, and saying they are "in discussion" with MegaCorp, is enough for them. Hell, I think I'd prefer it if money was involved, at least that wouldn't be quite so embarrassing.
