@thomasfuchs I have a question: Has it actually finished counting RAM ?

It's just that 448 kB is really unusual for a PC clone. I'd have thought that by the time this was introduced all the manufacturers would have switched from 4164s to 41256 chips, meaning that they'd install 256 K, 512 K etc.

So I'm wondering: Does this thing actually have 512 K but it pinches 64 K for onboard video instead of the video having its own RAM, as would be the case with any standard PC compatible plug in video card ?

The conditions under which Gaza's population is heading into winter are inhumane. But not enough people in my country are paying attention to the issue.

Tonight's was the last pot banging demo outside Assen station this year.

I'm hoping for some kind of Christmas miracle so we don't have to return on the 8th of January.

Unfortunately, with the plight of Palestinians having been pushed out of the news there doesn't seem to be much chance of a rapid improvement so I expect we'll be back next year to continue to try to raise awareness.

After a two week break, we were supposed to be protesting for Gaza at Assen railway station again today.
No-one else was there.
It's cold and icy. That's presumably why people stayed away.
While a million other things have been in the news since we last met to protest about Israel's disgusting behaviour towards Palestinians, an end to the genocide was not one of them. Israel is instead using the fog of other issues to carry on their genocidal behaviour while people are distracted by the other issues.

Photos from last Thursday and this evening of the weekly protest for Gaza at Assen railway station. Last week we were pot banging, as we do most weeks. This week we listened in silence as names of Palestinians killed by the Israelis were read out.
Each name is read out with the age of the deceased. In one hour we had time only for a small fraction of the dead. There's time to remember only a few hundred out of the tens of thousands who have been killed.
Clearly many people were touched by the message, especially when they heard the names of young children. Many people took leaflets. Hopefully many of them will at the very least be prepared to join the boycott of Israeli goods.
Who wouldn't be affected by the murder of infants ?

We're seeing more positive reactions as time passes.
Every time Israel commits violence against surrounding nations this makes it more obvious just how awful the apartheid state of Israel actually is. People are noticing.
Deaths continue while each new attack removes the last from the news headlines, so it's important that we continue to remind people that the violence against Palestinians has never ceased.

Here I am, approaching the age at which several tiny company pensions for the many companies that I worked for in the UK ought to start paying out, and I'm faced with this.

"You must be a UK resident".

"UK passport or driving licence"

"must be a UK current account in your name"

No, no, and No.

Brexit took away a good part of my income, which is part of why I'd like to be able to access these pensions early.

Brexit also took away my UK bank account.

Brexit is also the reason why I changed nationality as a result of which I no longer have a UK passport (or driving licence).

I've sent them a message of course to ask how I can access my pension. Hopefully I will actually be able to access it, BECAUSE IT'S MY MONEY WHICH I EARN'T. But I won't believe it until they actually start paying out.

Brexit really is the gift which keeps giving.

Also: in sensible countries you don't have to try to prove who you are by sending photocopies of paper bank statements. Why is this still how things are done in the UK ?

What have we seen so far today with the so-called "ceasefire" ? 70 more Gazans killed by the genocidal state of Israel. So we met again earlier this evening to bang pots and make a noise.

It's mostly a peaceful demonstration, but today we were visited by a crazy Zionist man who marched up to us, started arguing loudly with one of the women at the demo and and then started to shove another woman. Luckily this was seen by two police who very efficiently told him to get lost.

Today's quiet demo for Gaza in Groningen. These demos take place from 13:00 until 14:00, every other Saturday in Groningen, on the odd numbered weeks (oneven weken). We stand quietly with signs while others hand out leaflets with information about the boycott against Israel.
