I've been here on Mastodon using iOS for four years now. I've always gone back and forth between two clients that I really like, @ivory and @IceCubesApp. Do you have a favorite? Why?

Let’s talk about Fantasy Literature.

@trekfan4747 Hi! Which DS9 book do you recommend is the best sequel to the TV show?

@georgetakei Let’s brace ourselves, tough days ahead.

Such a GREAT episode. Thank you, @pluralistic .

@pluralistic Does their policy of supporting DRM-free EPUB on their Kobo ereaders make Kobo a slightly better choice (or the lesser evil)?

@pluralistic Hi, I’m a big fan from Brasil! I’m reading Chokepoint Capitalism and I’m baffled by the severity of the problems we are facing regarding the Big Techs (and it seems they’ll become quite worse from this day on). I’ve just finished the chapter focused on the history of Amazon and I’d like to know your impressions on Rakuten Kobo ereaders business model, if you have any.

I’m rewatching the pilot episode of Star Trek Deep Space Nine (The Emissary) for the umpteenth time. What a powerful episode, I think it was one of the best pilots of all the Star Trek franchise series.

Hi, everyone. Do you know any good Medium/Substack newsletters on Sci Fi and Fantasy books?

I was just looking at some new apps. Among them are Harcover for reading and Ivory for Mastodon. Both are well done and up to date.

Ivory seems great, but I’m already using Ice Cubes and I don’t know if it is worth to move to Ivory yet.

For those who uses Mastodon on iOS, do you have a favorite app client?

#mastodon #fediverse #hardcover #ivory #ivoryapp

@philip I’m testing the app now and I confess that I’m very satisfied with the usability so far.

I’m listening to this song now while reading Star Wars Thrawn. No, it’s not a direct allusion to the Thrawn of Rebels (because there it seems to me a little different from the books), but it definitely helped me get in the mood.

I finished 2023 reading Count Zero, the second book of The Sprawl trilogy by William Gibson @GreatDismal . I’ve never read it before. I really like Neuromancer and I really like the images that Gibson evokes in his books, it’s mind-blowing. It was a good way to close 2023 and 2024 already starts with Monalisa Overdrive in my hands.

Ok, so, regarding all that WotC nonsense, now “we won the battle” (I’m not that naive, I’m more cyberpunk). What are you going to do now? Are you returning to D&D, are you vouching for the Open Licenses projects? Any other plans? #ogl #dnd #openlicense

Where do you keep track of your reading? Goodreads? StoryGraph? Does anyone here uses Bookwyrm?
