    The strongest argument against simulation hypothesis (and disembodied mind theories like the soul) is the measurable complexity of the brain. If there was a separate oracle machine to do all that we wouldn't need complex brains.

    Also simple substances like alcohol or a knock on the head or a disease can completely alter personality, memory and autobiographical continuity. So if there is an otherworldly aspect to the self, then why is it so fragile to this-worldly changes.

    The most competitive export of USA is the USD

    There is no need for education, babies, manufacturing, because all of it can bought by minting USD. Babies can be imported. They come ready to pay taxes full educated, we call them immigrants.

    Only USA can mint risk-free USD in the world. The rest of us only have access to risky re-hypothecated offshore USD liabilities

    Why does USA need nuclear reactors? Just mint USD and buy energy.

    @freepatriot Democracy uses votes as a proxy for legitimacy. Vote hacking through psyops becomes the norm. Eventually real legitimacy is lost and people outsource violence to more legitimate forms. Yeah other systems also decay but democracy is so rare in history because it decays the fastest. It is quickly replaced by oligarchy pretending to be democracy, or monarchy pretending to populist.

    The American pope has something to do with gold repatriation into the USA. The Vatican used to be a custodian of physical gold because no one would invade it. It is with the Fed these days. I think JD Vance took that gold for the USA after meeting the previous pope on Easter day one day before he died. The new American pope will help manage IOR (Vatican bank) physical gold with the USA.
