#WhatchaReading ? I'm in another recent Anne Stuart, It Takes a Thief. Liking this historical much more than Return to Mariposa, but both have the same continuity issue. 🤔

Also listening to Better Left Unsent by Lia Louis, which is a bit of a downer but in awesome British accents. ;-) Really tired of contemporary romance characters who have no concept of personal responsibility though.

Just for transparency, if I rec a book here, it's because I read and enjoyed it, or the author's other books. I'm not a writer or in publishing in any way, just a fan.

(If I do promote something with another motive, such as supporting an author who's having hard times, I'll mention that.)

Just listened to Thank You for Listening (you're welcome!) and it was very enjoyable. I did feel the main character was harsh on the romance genre, but she came around in a pretty believable way. (Although the plot is quite deliberately tropey.) Laugh out loud funny at some points -- Whelan likely had a field day with creating characters she could have fun voicing -- but also genuinely painful and touching at times.

My daughter recently had a huge freakout because she encountered someone on a night walk who knew her by her deadname and she didn't know what to do.

Last night she met him again and she told him her new name and he seemed okay with it. He seems interested in spending time with her.

Now I'm freaking out a bit, because my daughter is autistic and faceblind and really has no idea who this person is. (cont.)
