have you ever had a time in your life when you had ZERO local friends? it’s happened to me a couple of times in my life (lots of moving around as an adult) and i just had a long-ass dream about it. harrowing. the loneliness builds up and it’s so hard to make new friends without letting the desperation creep through.

my partner had his D&D group over, and i remembered what a pleasure it is to hang out quietly in another room, door closed, while a party is happening elsewhere in the house 🥰

like: there are people being social nearby, yay! and also i am protected from being social ☺️
