I remember back in the day when I first heard about Hacker News. It was probably USENET or a forum somewhere.

For a hot minute I thought it was this techie place where hackers discussed news.

I quickly realized that it has nothing to do with "hackers". It's a stand-alone subreddit (basically) where capitalists use tech and tech-adjacent issues to rally around capitalism and cheer on the stock market.

Any dissent from that line is censored aggressively. It's an echo chamber.

Well, TikTok is officially dead to me now.

I left Windows for Linux in 2016 or 2017. It recently occurred to me that I've been off Windows long enough that my old muscle memory for it is gone. I don't know my way around it any more and I doubt I could help a Windows user troubleshoot their system.

It's bliss.
