was watching a streamer on Twitch go on about how systemd is something made by Microsoft.
I know Lennart left the Linux kernel team for MS but, isn't systemd a ripoff of launchd? And isn't PulseAudio a ripoff of CoreAudio? Lennart was open about stealing ideas from Apple to put into Linux, there's nothing Microsoft about it.
Firefox is basically like modern GNOME nowadays: You're fighting against it to get what you want. Vivaldi is like KDE, they both have their bugs and flaws but they're both so user-friendly and customisable.
@PhenomX6@fedi.pawlicker.com don't trans and genderfluid people already attack bisexuals because, y'know, bi? Doesn't that go against the more than two genders thing?
it's always funny seeing weens on the chris chan subreddit be like "kf bad" like, you do realise you're doing the exact same thing they're doing, right
@Riedler@mas.to@jk@mastodon.social Nope. Quod Libet. The issue affected anything that used Gstreamer for audio playback though, so if deadbeef used that then it'd have the same problems.
It's been fixed now, thankfully, but that made me realise that maybe a rolling release distro wasn't for me.
@jk@mastodon.social@Riedler@mas.to If there's any Linux things that are important, it's usually well-tested. Stuff like servers and "embedded" OSes. Linux on the desktop is unfortunately treated as second class to those. It's understandable as to why, but it sucks for those who are sick of Windows.
(fun fact: the music player I use broke on seeking, because the FLAC library had a bug that screwed up that particular task.)
Sky News is reporting that Liz Truss has resigned. They were the first to report on the Queen's death, even before the BBC were able to report on it so it's likely.
